Welcome to Risers.org ("Risers," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services.
• If you are under 18, you represent that you have parental or guardian consent.
• Businesses, nonprofits, and schools using Risers must have the authority to legally bind their organization.

2. Services Description

Risers provides an online platform that connects high school students with local businesses and community organizations for part-time jobs, volunteer opportunities, and career exploration. Students may create profiles, collect endorsements, and apply to opportunities. Employers and organizations may post roles, manage applicants, and engage with students through the Services.

Risers does not guarantee employment, volunteer placement, or acceptance into any program.

3. Accounts & Security

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You agree to provide accurate and current information.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Services for unlawful purposes.
• Post misleading, fraudulent, discriminatory, or harmful content.
• Harass, exploit, or harm other users.
• Interfere with the operation of the Services (e.g., spam, hacking, scraping).

We may remove content or suspend accounts at our discretion if we believe these rules are violated.

5. Content & Intellectual Property

Your Content: You retain ownership of the information you post (e.g., profiles, applications, job listings). By posting, you grant Risers a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content solely to provide the Services.

Risers' Content: All site design, software, trademarks, and intellectual property remain the exclusive property of Risers. You may not copy, modify, or distribute without permission.

6. Third-Party Links & Services

The Services may contain links to third-party sites or services. Risers is not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. Your interactions with third parties are solely between you and them.

7. SMS Communications (Optional)

Risers may offer optional SMS text message notifications related to your account, activity, or use of the Services. Participation in SMS messaging is entirely optional and not required to create an account or use the Services.

By enabling SMS notifications and providing a mobile phone number, you consent to receive text messages from Risers in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP or contact support@risers.org.

Risers is not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages due to carrier or network issues.

8. Disclaimers

• Risers is not an employer, recruiter, or staffing agency.
• We do not screen every posting, student, or employer.
• We make no guarantees regarding job offers, compensation, safety, or outcomes.
• The Services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Risers is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
• Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Services shall not exceed $100.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Risers and its officers, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising out of your use of the Services, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Services is governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and share information, including information related to optional SMS communications.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or misuse of the Services. You may also delete your account at any time. Certain provisions (including liability, indemnification, and intellectual property rights) will survive termination.
